1763 -- Seven Years' War ends

1774 -- First Continental Congress convened

1775 -- (April) first shots fired at Lexington and Concord -- (May) Second Continental Congress convened

1776 -- (July) Second Continental Congress issues the Declaration of Independence 

1781 -- Cornwallis surrenders at Yorktown, Virginia, which was the last major battle of the war

1783 -- Treaty of Paris finally ends the hostilities between America, Britain, France and Spain -- Britain recognizes American Independence and cedes all territory west of the Mississippi (from Canada to Spanish Florida) to the Americans

1789 -- (July) storming of the Bastille begins the French Revolution

1793 -- (France) Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette brought to the guillotine -- knee breeches give way to trousers and women adopt the flowing gowns and hairstyles of Ancient Greece

1798 -- Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth publish Lyrical Ballads

1799 -- Mary Wollstonecraft publishes A Vindication for the Rights of Women -- (November) Napoleon overthrows the French Directory becomes dictator

1802 -- Napoleon sells the Louisiana Territory to the United States 

1804 -- the Civil Code drafted by Napoleon [later known as the Napoleonic Code] is instituted in France -- Napoleon crowns himself emperor of the French

1810 -- Latin American colonies in open revolt

1812 -- war breaks out between the United States and Great Britain

1813 -- (October) Napoleon defeated at Leipzig

1814 -- Napoleon exiled to Elba -- Congress of Vienna -- Battle of New Orleans occurs after a peace is reached by delegates in Europe 

1815 -- (June) Napoleon defeated at Waterloo by the Duke of Wellington and Marshal Blucher, and permanently exiled to St. Helena where he died six years later

1819 -- Florida is purchased from Spain for $5 million dollars

1822 -- Spanish South America now independent nations and all free countries adopt the Napoleonic Code

1823 -- Monroe Doctrine issued and immediately supported by British Prime Minister George Canning

1824 -- Trade unions legalized in Great Britain

1832 -- Reform Bill in Great Britain redistributed seats in the House of Commons, taking them from dying small towns and giving them to the industrial cities in the north

1833 -- Slavery abolished in the British Empire

1846 -- Corn Laws passed in GB

1848 -- Revolution breaks out in France, eventually leading to the establishment of the Second French Republic with Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte as President

1851 -- Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte takes power in France in a coup d'etat

1791 -- (France) Fearful of failing in their quest as had their American counterparts, Robespierre and the radicals send Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette to the guillotine -- knee breeches give way to trousers and women adopt the flowing gowns and hairstyles of Ancient Greece

1802 -- Napoleon sells the Louisiana Territory to a large group composed of French Creoles and exiled American Patriots who establish La Grande Territorie de Louisiane (GTL), an independent self-governing republican country

1804 -- the Civil Code drafted by Napoleon [later known as the Napoleonic Code] is instituted in France -- Napoleon crowns himself emperor of the French

1808 -- first of several skirmishes begin along GTL's eastern border that eventually lead to open hostilities -- settlers in the British colonial frontier swear allegiance to the GTL

1783 -- Slayer Charlotte Eddings killed in England by Angelus -- his first Slayer kill

1791 -- Slayer Margaret Campbell kills Hugh FitzDougal in Paris

1798 -- (November) Angelus turns William James Woodville in London

1799 -- (February) Angelus adopts the title Viscount Pierrepont 

1802 -- Angelus turns Penn in Ireland

1812 -- (April) Angelus kills Slayer Francesca Lafitte in Lyon, France -- (July) Penn leaves Angelus and William for greener pastures

1819 -- Angelus and Darla kill Slayer Emilie de Rohan in Naples, Italy

1825 -- (March) Harold leaves for Australia -- (May) Angelus kills Slayer Sophie Kreuller in Zurich

1830 -- William fights and kills Slayer Millicent Peploe

1860 -- Angelus turns Drusilla in London

1868 -- Angelus kills Slayer Hermione Douglas in Hungary 

1871 -- William kills Slayer Justine Delsarte in Vienna, Austria

1872 -- Angelus kills Slayer Bethany Littleton in England

1875 -- Angelus kills Slayer Julia Emory during the Cruciamentum 

1881 -- Angelus kills Slayer Maisri MacKenzie in Scotland

1883 -- Rosalind leaves Darla to join Penn

1887 -- Angelus kills Slayer Natalia Vilosova in St. Petersburg, Russia

1892 -- (January) Slayer Zhusannah Olenski dies in Prague while battling a group of Fyarl demons

1893 -- (November) Slayer Eunice Cardwelle is killed by Angelus 

1894 -- Alicia Price is made the Slayer by way of powerful magick because the next in line, Marie-Cecile, is only eight years old

1898 -- (February) Darla and Drusilla killed by a fire in Prague -- (December) Buffy displaced into this reality

1899 -- (February) Angelus and his allies overthrown Nest -- (June) Felicity becomes lady's maid and companion to Buffy -- (July) the Gathering is held in Paris, and Buffy becomes the currency in a deal between Indara and Angelus -- (August) Penn is cursed by the Rom and Rosalind is disowned by the Order of Aurelius -- (August/December) -- Angelus, William and Buffy embark on a quest to find Penn

1900 -- (January) Alicia visits Buffy, who turns to Indara for assistance -- (February) Alicia gives birth to Corrine Elizabeth and then dies, formally activating Marie-Cecile as the Slayer and thus restoring the lineage
